Symetra Trek Destinations, a registered index-linked annuity, offers growth potential for your funds based on the performance of multiple market indexes. But unlike being directly invested in the market, it also provides some protection from market downturns.

Full or partial Return Lock options
With the Return Lock feature, you can lock in the value of any indexed account in which you have allocated money. This can be done with a full or partial value of an indexed account. Once the value is locked, it will be credited with a fixed rate of interest equal to the Return Lock Rate from the day following your exercise of the Return Lock, whether that’s 1 or 6 years (unless a withdrawal is taken). May be utilized once per interest term for a full Return Lock, or up to four times per interest term (or interest term year) for multi-year accounts for a partial Return Lock.
Available in states: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY

Withdrawal Provisions

Market Value Adjustment (MVA)An MVA refers to the potential fluctuation of the surrender value of the annuity in response to market conditions. The MVA applies during the surrender charge period on withdrawals in excess of the free withdrawal amount. Upon death or annuitization, the MVA will not apply even if the cash surrender value exceeds the contract value. The MVA will not apply to return locks, the nursing home and hospitalization waiver or the terminal illness waiver, and may vary by state. Access to contract value During the surrender charge periods, you can withdraw an amount each year without surrender charges. This amount is the greater of: 15% of your contract value at the beginning of the interest term year; Any accumulated interest (minus any indexed account charges) in your contract value as of the beginning of the interest term year, less prior withdrawals. If you withdraw more than this amount in any of the surrender charge periods, surrender charges will apply on the excess amounts. Any amounts withdrawn from an indexed account before the end of the interest term will not receive credited indexed interest at the end of the interest term.
